How well we master the skills often have a big impact on our performance as a person, team and even company
The workshop begins with an experiential activity. In groups the participants learn a new culture, along with values, language and habits. Then they meet other cultures, their response and misunderstandings help us understand the effects and emotions involved when cultures meet. This experience informs the rest of the workshop, as it allows for the participants to identify cultural elements in cooperation and communication.
To better understand our own cultural tendencies, each workshop participant will take the Culture Indicator. The results will raise self awareness of personal culture while also exploring the implications for cross-cultural negotiations.
After raising our knowledge on culture and its role in our work and decision making, we move on to negotiation. For this there are short lectures followed by interactive and engaging role plays. Each is designed to focus on and display various elements of culture as well as the process and best practices of negotiations.
By the end of the workshop, the participants will know how to recognize and adapt in cross-border communication. With a combination of awareness, knowledge from feedback while also gaining value in-class interaction and role plays.
The key concepts and skills will be explored more in-depth in follow up workshops.
